Yaris semi-auto clutch problem

Hi Guys

i have a 2006 Yaris which seems to be juddering  in the lower gears especially in the morning.  Been told it could be a worn clutch and been quoted £600 to replace it.

as it is a semi- auto someone suggested try to get clutch reintialised first.  The garage told me if clutch is worn then reintialising could kill the drive all together. Is that the case?

any other suggestion please?
