Does anyone know the difference between UK 1999 (old shape) 1.8ST and 1.8SR model? Is there any difference in bhp? I am thinking of getting one and I wanted to know the difference.

and as if by magic . . .

In the UK the SR was a limited edition (correct me if I'm wrong :) )

It had 16''momo alloys, air-con, Sony double DIN stereo, electric heated door mirrors, Stainless grill mesh, rear spoiler and skirts as standard.

The ST had air-con as an option, wheel trims instead of alloys and no spoilers as standard.

As far as I know both cars had the 1.8 (1762cc) 7A-FE (also in the Carina), 4 cylinder, twin cam, 16valve 114bhp and 114lb torque. Top speed 125mph, 0-60 in 10secs and a quoted 48.7 mpg at a constant 56mph.

I'd go for the SR! :D
