Brake Pad fitting

Hi all

Got new brake pads fitted to my 2009 Toyota Avensis today in my local Toyota garage, got home and looked at the pads and noticed the arrows on the pads are facing in the wrong direction  , rang the garage and they said it makes no difference . But as far as I know  I thought the arrows should be pointing in the direction the wheel turns , but mine are pointing in opposite direction .

Does anybody know will this make any difference ( like the dealership said) or should they be turned to the right direction ??

See attached pic , this is a front wheel and the arrow is pointing anticlockwise.

It won't matter unless the pads are different; On my old Yaris the inside and outside pads I bought were a slightly different shape because one had the wear indicator squeally strip and one didn't, and the squeally strip one was supposed to go on the outside.

Normally I would not think it matters which way the pads are fitted, so long as they are fitted properly and safely. Most brands I have used never had arrows. Only difference is the inboard and outboard pads.

Unless the pads are machined in a certain way to be directional - like tyres, you need get info from the manufacturers of the brake pads. Who made them?
