Engine noise and vibration

I Have bought a 2007 1.8 tr avensis and have descovered that when the car drives over 40 mph there is a difference in engine noise like a higher revving like a loud humming and a very slight vibration in the accelerator pedal I put it Down to me not being used to a big engine but fear it could maybe be a bigger problem any help would be greatly appreciated

Well that's freakishly coincidental... someone in the Yaris forum has a similar issue (Among many others!) and the consensus seems to be leaning towards a wheel bearing as the cause of the highspeed hum!
