My new Optiwhite bulbs arrived today for my 2013 Auris, looked forward to trying them tonight, just been out now and feel so dissapointed, could not see any difference, looked no whiter than old ones and certainly never lit road up any better, total waste of £44, Just thought I  would let members know my thoughts on them and maybe save your money, I just dont feel save driving at night in the Auris, its the one thing I would give a bad mark to, poor headlights.

Some owners of the second generation Auris have had the headlights replaced under warranty - there are topics within the Auris club on this.

There are changes to the MOT from May 2018, where aftermarket HID kits face being an MOT failure -not sure whether aftermarket LED's will incur the same.

Aside from that the majority of LED bulbs aren't road legal.

Your choice.

Strictly speaking they should be a major fail if the lamp unit was not designed for the LED bulb used :

Section 4

A ‘light source’ means any bulb, LED or other means of emitting light.

(c) Light source and lamp not compatible                   Major

Existing halogen headlamp units shouldn’t be converted to be used with HID bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp.

Yes, I have had this work done, can't say there's a significant improvement with the new headlights.
