I’ve got a 67 plate Auris Touring Sport Hybrid which I’ve had from new.

It has now just gone over 10k miles and is therefore in need of the first service, however no service lights or messages have appeared. Is this normal? It seems strange that a modern car wouldn’t have any sort of indication when a service is due.

My pervious car a Seat Leon, started to give me a countdown when it got within a thousand miles of the service being required.

Not all recent cars have service reminders, and as far as I'm aware the current Auris doesn't.
