I have a 2012 avensis and the interior lights are not working. All the dash lights cigarette lighter are working the switches for the windows that light up are working. But the main dome light , lights on interior of doors the glove box and boot lights are out and there is no blown fuse. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Hi Jason,

Welcome to TOC

Are you absolutely, 100%, sure that there is not a blown or poorly seated fuse?

Thanks for the welcome. I have pulled um twice and popped um back in and nothing blown. They all look like they are seated fine. 😕😕

I know you have checked fuses, but did not say which fuse by name. Did you check the 'DOME' fuse located in the engine compartment fuse box? I have the early version T27 plus handbook, and the later versions are similar - file:///F:/Users/Konrad/Documents/Avensis%20info/AVENSIS_EE_OM20B44E.pdf

Go to page 574 of the pdf link above - this will show a diagram of the fuse layout, then page 575 - describing fuse function. Dome fuse is no.23 and top righthand corner of the diagram (same location as my T27, but different number). It is rated 10A.

I remember when I owned an Avensis T22 and the dome fuse failed without actually blowing (still intact). The metal properties had changed, causing the remote central locking to not work. I changed the fuse and everything was restored. As I said the failed fuse was not blown, but the metal was discoloured.

Web link to the Avensis manual - https://myportalcontent.toyota-europe.com/Manuals/Toyota/AVENSIS_EE_OM20B44E.pdf
Look at page 574 onwards for fuse location details.
