Iq central lock problem

Just got a Toyota IQ 2009 and the Battery of the key fob was down so I did a new one . The car still is not opining from the key fob . I am opening from door and starting the car normally . The key is beeping the red light normally but not responding to the car . I looked to the fuse and they are ok . The car even have been made a new Battery. I need help .

Hi I found this,there are also lots of instructions on youtube if this dosnt work!

TOYOTA 
 
1. The vehicle should be in the following condition-
A. The key is NOT in-
serted in the ignition,
B. The driver's door IS open,
C. The driver’s door is
UNLOCKED. 

2. Insert the Key into the ignition switch and then pull it out. 

3. Press the Master Door Lock Switch  5 times from Lock to Unlock.

4. Close the Driver's door then open it. 

5. Repeat step #3. 

6. Now select the mode by inserting the key into the Ignition Switch and turning it to the "Run" or "On" position. The programming mode is determined by the amount of times you go from “key off” to the "key on" position and back before pulling the key out. 
 
A. 1 time is the "Add" mode. This is used only on some models and it allows you to add a remote to the already existing remotes. The ECU confirms this by locking and unlocking the door locks automatically after you remove the key.
 
B. 2 times is the second mode which will erase all previously programmed remotes and allow you to program new ones. The ECU confirms this mode by locking and unlocking the door locks twice after you remove the key 
 
C. 3 times is the third mode which tells you how many remotes are already programmed to the ECU. It confirms this locking and unlocking the door locks the amount of times applicable to the remotes coded. If no remotes are programmed then the ECU locks and unlocks the door locks 5 times. The ECU will hold up to 4 remotes at any one time. 
 
7.  Press the Lock and Unlock buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1.5 sec and then press either button by itself for 1 sec. 

8. The ECU will perform the Lock/Unlock automatically to confirm that the 1st remote is stored by the ECU. Repeat step 7 immediately with another remote and continue until all remotes are registered. 

9. Shut the driver’s door and try all remotes.

Did the key fob work when you brought the car?

From the iQ repair manual:

Register a new recognition code when replacing the door control transmitter or the door control
receiver.
•
Add mode is used to retain the already registered codes while registering a new recognition code.
This mode is used when adding a transmitter.
•
Rewrite mode is used to clear all the previously registered codes and register only new recognition
codes. This mode is used when exchanging the transmitter or the door control receiver for a new
one.
•
Confirmation mode is used to confirm how many recognition codes have already been registered
before an additional registration of a recognition code.
•
Prohibition mode is used to clear all the registered codes and cancel the wireless door lock
function. Use this mode when the transmitter is lost.
•
All of the steps in the following registration procedure must be performed in sequential order
continuously.
•

 

1. REGISTRATION OF RECOGNITION CODE (MANUAL OPERATION)
(a) The following conditions should be met.
(1) No key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder.
(2) Only the driver side door is opened.
(b) Perform the following operations to select the desired mode.
(1) Insert and remove the key from the ignition switch twice within 5 seconds. (End in removed)
(2) After the above operation, close and open the driver door twice. (End in open)
Then insert the key into the ignition key cylinder and remove it.
HINT:
Complete this procedure within 40 seconds.
(3) After the above operations, close and open the driver door twice. (End in open)
Then insert the key into the ignition key cylinder and close the driver door.
HINT:
Complete this procedure within 40 seconds.
(4) Turn the ignition switch from LOCK to ON and back to LOCK at approximately 1-second
intervals 1 to 5 times to select a mode (see the illustration). Then remove the key from the
ignition key cylinder.

This last step requires turning from LOCK to ON to get into the desired programming mode.

One time = Add
Twice = Rewrite
Three Times = Confirmation of remotes already programmed
Four times = Prohibition Mode

I know you have a new fob but have you opened it and checked the Battery is in correctly.  This happened to me and I paid £15 to change Battery at dealers then found instructions on You Tube how to change it myself using the key down the side.  Good luck.

Fob is not new,it didnt work when he brought the car!!seems its probably faulty!!!

If the Battery in the fob has gone flat for any length of time it's probably not registered to the car anymore. 

There will be a procedure for getting it linked again, might need a trip to the dealer.

Hi Craig, so does that mean I could use a second hand electronic IQ key fob and could re-register as a spare for my 2009 iq.
