Noobie questions

Hey everyone,

I bought my Auris hybrid last week and have a couple of questions I hope you can answer:

1) It beeps twice at random intervals and there are no other messages on the displays. What is it telling me?

2) The brakes grind a bit, though it has passed all it's inspections. Is this a normal sound for the regenerative braking system?

Hi, hope you like your new Auris Hybrid.

I’m not sure about the beeping. Do you have front parking sensors as they can sometime beep if you get too close to the car in front when starting off?

The grinding you mentioned is normal. It is not particularly bad though it is rougher when compared to a normal car.

Thank you C, yes I love it, I keep trying to think of excuses to drive it!

I don't have front parking sensors and the beeping happens when I'm driving along. It's just a bit confusing. Hopefully, if it was urgent I would get other warning signs too.

The grinding is definitely something I can live with, I just wanted to check I wasn't damaging my discs.

When we got our latest hybrid it had built in sat nav and gives an audible warning when approaching speed cameras and it was not obvious what it was. Maybe this cold be your noise.

Yeah, that seems to be it, thank you, now if I can just work out how to switch it off...
