Hi you all I have carina 1997 with abs problem and have been told ask you if you've had this problem as abs sermons in same year cars had same sermon cheery maurikar

This is my first post here. Hope someone can help me. I Have a 97 Carina 1800 CD

I was pulling out the drive the other morning when ABS light came on. I believe it is a sensor gone, don't have a code reader, but want to know the easiest way to determine which sensor is faulty. If I do diagnostic shortcut do I put T1 E1 and pull the pin at bottom of plug.? Does that mean I will be in the abs diagnostic side?

Toyota don't stock sensors for this car now, I can get generic one that will fit Toyota but they list as left and right. The only difference I can see in the diagrams are the cable clip arrangements and the back is shorter cables. Can I buy just 1 sensor and use it to identify the fault.

Does anyone know of any way to test with an ohms multimeter as the cost of the sensors range from £10 to £85 with the average around £25. Can't see much difference between the cheapest and the most expensive other than brand name!

I like to do as much on my car myself as I can, but sometimes I just need a helping hand from those with more experience.

Many thanks in advance. Maurice
