2005 Avensis Problems

Hi guys,

I am new to the forum so firstly I would like to say hello.

So, I have had a 2005 Toyota Avensis for the pas 7 years and, to be honest, I love it.

Could anyone give me a hand with a couple of problems I'm having?

My remote central locking just suddenly stopped working.  I have tried both keys, replaced the batteries in both (just in case) but nothing works.  It still unlocks via the key in the keyhole and all the doors lock and unlock via this method.  I have had to turn the alarm off though as it goes off when i unlock the car.

Does anyone know what rear wiper i need to get?  Mine is split and, looking online I am completely confused.

My rear number plate has just come loose, the yellow screw has snapped.  Odd question, do i just use a normal screw to put it back on or do i have to buy the little plastic screws (which it has now)?

Hi Mike, welcome to TOC 

Sorry that I can't help with your central locking issue but:

a) wiper - hatchback or tourer?

b) you can use a normal screw but obviously it will stand out unless you paint it to match the background or use coloured cover caps. Coloured plastic screws should be pennies if you can find somewhere that will sell individually.

How embarrassing, I drive it all the time and I haven't got a clue.  Dad's taxi it certainly is lol
