2013 corolla high pitch noice as i accelerate. started after battery change

I just had a new Battery put in because old one was dying. Since new Battery was replaced, the car makes a sound as I drive it. The best way I an describe it, is that it sounds like a wind up toy, or an electric car ( but those are silent haha). as I accelerate, the sound gets a little higher pitched. Sound familiar to anyone?

How long are we talking about since the Battery was replaced,  a day or a week  or so?

My two thoughts would be has something happened to the air filter box or inlet so that is making a noise that would follow the revs.

The other would be a problem with the alternator, perhaps thats failing as well ?

If a garage put the new Battery in, then a visit back to them would seem the best way, they can check they did not disturb anything and should have the equipment  to check the alternator.  If a good garage doubt they  would charge for  either checks.
