1994 Camry Rear Engine Mount

I have been wanting to change out the rear engine mount on my

1994 Camry. Last time I took a look at it, I was stumped!

Haynes manual said remove bolts under mount (attaching it

to the frame), jack up the engine slightly via oil pan, and remove

the mount. I tried this method, and it was a no-go. I didn't have

enough room to pull out the mount (since bolts come from both

ends of the mount), and I was afraid to over extend the cv joints.

There is the brace that extends from the engine block to the top of

the mount, but the drive shaft extends through the brace.

Anyone ever change one of these or have any ideas? :help:

I'm having the same problem (see my frustration post on axels). I've removed the nuts top & bottom from the mount AND the four bolts from the casting that arches from the top of the mount over to the engine's backside. Every part is loose in my hand, but nothing wants to disengage. I guess it would have been too easy for Toyota to use bolts on the rear mount like they did in the front mount. Then, we could hav just slid the mount out sideways.

Oh well,

Norm
