Toyota’s Aygo is the best city car in Driver Power, ahead of its Citroen C1 sister model, plus key rivals such as the Kia Picanto and Hyundai i10. 

Owners rave about the looks and build, with cabin comfort and quality also highly rated. The infotainment shines as well; it’s clear and easy to use, helping the Aygo to trump rivals.

Not surprisingly, running costs are another strength, with fine scores for economy, and positive results for road tax and insurance. And while owners say they’d like to see better acceleration and quieter engines, only five per cent report a fault.

Good to hear, but i'm biased, but talking of bias what annoys me with Auto Express they seem to love VW group triplets and Hyundai i10 when they do their reviews, but real world, real people give different results!

.... so am I.

IMO, a city car has to be small, automatic, very fast off the mark and fuel efficient. Only small EVs or the Yaris hybrid fill all these requirements.
