Hi , new member here . Just recently bought a Toyota Corolla tsport. The problem I am having is when I engage lift at over 6200 revs my engine management light comes on, but no loss of power. I reset the lights by disconnecting battey. Any ideas what it could be. cheers.

Can you not find out the code ?

Any recent modifications to air intake or exhaust ?

Lift bolts renewed ?

MAF cleaned ?

Last oil change / adequate oil pressure ?

There's two strainer like filters in the head that can sometimes require cleaning over time

Out of interest, is there anything that can be used to clean the OCV strainer without taking the OCV off? Can thinner modern oil like 0W/30 clean it or perhaps some oil additive? My car has been standing for a while so expect I may have this problem to contend with, however I haven't taken it above 6000 Revs yet to check it!

You could try seafoam. I've personally only used it as the Intake spray but you may benefit from the additive version.
