help- how to disable passenger air bag for 2008 rav4

HI

Just bought a used 2008 rav4, my dog weights 40 lbs and i like to put her in the front passenger seat in a proper pet restraint system, but she trips the weight sensor and the pass airbag is on. I don't want it on due to the safety factor of an airbag inflation hurting her in an accident. How can i turn it off or recalibrate it? Thanks

Hi David,

I'm not 100% sure about this on your car, but on many cars there is a key-like switch by the side of the glove box which can only be seen when you open the passenger door. If it's there, turn it with a key.
