MOT advisories need parts Yaris 2002

Hi, I'm trying to find some parts for a Yaris 2002 as the list below came up as advisories. I tried euro car parts but wasn't sure if it was the right stuff.

  • Nearside Front Anti-roll bar linkage rubber bush
  • Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage rubber bush
  • Nearside Front Anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a pin/bush
  • Offside Front Macpherson strut has slight play in the sliding bush or gland

Can someone point out where I can order these parts? Also not sure what this is "Macpherson" my first guess was a shock absorber but I could be wrong?

Thanks

Is the right one for 1-2

I'm guessing #3 is this one?

As for #4, the car is on SORN for quite sometime so not sure if that'll be an issue when I take the car for MOT. But if I'm going to fix it, what do I need to change for #4 is it gonna be a whole strut suspension?

I think 1-3 are all covered under the second eBay link.

If the issue was the eBay link #1   then they would not have referred to the word "linkage"

As for item 4, it's a pia to remove a strut with rusted nuts. I would do nothing at all..

If you are going to attempt a job where rusted nuts and bolts could be an issue, I always find plenty of pre-preparation works wonders.

Soak the offending components in dismantling fluid hours or even days in advance. Reapply regularly to let the stuff really soak in. I personally use PlusGas and have found it to be better than the likes of WD40.

I find PlusGas good, but a (American) survey found the best penetrating agent to be a mixture of ATF (automatic transmission fluid) and acetone (nail varnish remover). I don't understand how it works as I believe the two liquids aren't miscable.

Thanks guys, I will order those linkage bushes I'm guessing there are only two linkages that's attached to the anti-roll bar?

Another thing that my friend pointed out, the front disc breaks are rusty from what he said is it better to replace them or is there another alternative to save the discs? I know driving it for a bit will break the rust but I can't drive it on the main road as it's SORN.

Also I'm about to change the oil as well, the car currently has 103k mileage just wondering what oil is good at this mileage? Been seeing some people just use semi synthetic 5w-30 and others says full synthetic :/.

I use 5W30 synthetic

The ARB bushes can be a pig to fit as they are a tight fit when new, and I pulled tendons in my hand trying to fit the "hoop" back over the top

On my Jap built Yaris I couldn't swap the Drivers side as the power steering was over the top, albeit I did them pre-emptively and the drivers side still passed the last MOT without comment

Tight rusted bolts - spray it with plusgas over several days and if you can, buy or borrow an impact wrench - Good Battery ones are surprisingly cheap nowadays...you can get a high torque dewalt for £249 with a charger, bag and a 2.0Ah  Lithium ion Battery or £289 with 2 x 5ah batteries, makes removing stuff a lot easier, failing that a long breaker bar

My dad has that wrench and its as good as my milwaukee that cost a good bit more...and makes removing even the toughest bolts a breeze
