Anybody done this & if so results? When driving it seems that the front door Speakers very much lose out to the Speakers in the dash - wondering if it is worth trying to upgrade or if the result would be minimal ...

Scott, do you mean there is less presence to midrange compared to the bass and treble? I noticed this, and thought about swapping my old JBL Speakers in place. I set the bass to +1 and the treble to +3. For me, any more bass smothers the midrange. Swapping the Speakers to something with a more balanced sound, wll be an good idea. Two way Speakers might be what you need. I think 165mm with adaptors should be a good fit.

Since my speakers are not too bad and not damaged, I will leave for now.

No Konrad, when driving it's almost as if there are no Speakers in the front doors & all the sound comes from the dash mounted Speakers - which is strange as when the car is sitting you can hear sound from the doors OK. I have tried playing around with the bass, mid & treble settings, balance, fade & DSP to no avail.

I believe that the oem Speakers are already 2-way. Also, there seems to be a possibility that Toyota changed the speaker mounts in the doors on the 2015 facelift so that kits like  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Avensis-09-onwards-Pioneer-17cm-Front-Door-Speaker-Upgrade-Kit-240W/381036967334? would actually need more money spent on another set of adaptors.

If only I had an idea of what sort of improvement I might get - last thing that I want to do is spend maybe £100 for virtually no difference whereas if I knew that it would be a noticeable difference then hand would be in pocket pronto ...

Hence why I was hoping that somebody else may have already done this.
