The radio in my 2017 Yaris enables Traffic Announcements on all settings except DAB. The garage we bought it from has told us to 'refresh' our list of stations on DAB but this hasn't worked. There is now an occasional second's  pause in transmission around the times I would expect to get TAs but no actual announcement. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how was it resolved? The garage have said we need to leave it with them for a day so they can 'test it themselves but I'm hoping not to have to.

I’ve never had much luck with DAB. The signal is forever ‘dropping out’. I just stick to FM. Sad really, as DAB is supposed to be wonderful.

Traffic Announcements have not worked on DAB since 2011 when the organisation that was running it lost their government funding...

The DAB-only Traffic Radio service is to be shut down, leaving literally dozens of drivers stranded. The Highways Agency quango said the UK government will no longer fund the service once the contract expires in August 2011,

Colin - thanks, that's interesting also a bit odd as we have a Honda that picks up TAs on DAB and my last Yaris (which I part-exchanged last Sept) also got them on DAB,

Angela - there are some head units that are capable of still superimposing the FM TAs over the top of the normal DAB reception. i.e. both tuners running simultaneously if TAs have been enabled. I believe the Honda (and other makes) have such a capability. I've had DAB head units in 2 Yarises since 2014 and neither have been capable of this.

Colin - thanks very much. I think you have solved my problem for me as when I read him your response, my husband pointed out that we didn't actually have DAB on my previous car radio.  We didn't know the info you have sent us so now we are clear I'm surprised our Toyota garage didn't know that though.  Thanks again.
