USB as a multimedia input not always present

Hi.  I wonder if anyone can shed any light on a problem I have with the USB input on my Touch2 head unit.

I formatted a Toshiba 16Gb USB stick as FAT32 and copied several albums to it - only using about 3.5Gb in total.  First drive of the day the USB plays fine but after I've parked up for an hour or so the USB input option on the Touch2 has disappeared!  If I remove the USB stick and reinsert it then the USB input option magically reappears!  However, whatever is causing this behaviour itself disppears overnight because, as I said,  the USB plays on the first drive of the day.

Any ideas, anyone?

What version of software is installed?

To find out press "setup" > "general" > "software information"

Lee, it reports 6.10.0WH - but thats a maps version rather than software isn't it?  If it helps it says the MAP ID is 2017 v2.

Sounds like a prob with the USB stick to me. Might be dodgy edge contacts, or it might be that the formatting's gone awry. I've already had to ditch one 16 gb Toshiba stick because the formatting went wrong, and apparently it can't be corrected because my computer won't recognise it. I won't be buying any more Tosh sticks.

Try it again with another USB stick, and report back on how it goes?

I'll try that - thanks Mike.

Thanks Mike - the switch to a different brand  of USB stick seems to have solved the problem.
