As stated the 4-runner was the officially release vehicle from Toyot in the UK. The Jap versions come in various guises.

SSR-V

SSR-X

SSR-X LTD

SSR-G

and others with the SSR-G being classed as the top spec. However the Japanese market does alot of the options market...and you could find an SSR-X with more gadgets and options than an SSR-G.

I have had a SSR X and now a SSR G and a friend a 4Runner. The 4Runner is very basic no mod cons. My SSR G has a lot more than the previous SSR X including Recaro seats, cruise control etc. All I can say about both the Surfs I have had is, the have both been splendid cars, any bits I have needed I order one day and receive the next. Even when the work has to be carried out in a garage I still supply the parts. The price I pay for the bits is comparable to a bit for a Fiesta. When I change the Surf it will be for another Surf.
