Anyone have any idea what these brown lines at the top of the windscreen are, just to the right of the mirror in my Auris ?

Nothing in your handbook?   Not on the wifes 2010 T-Spirit Auris.  I guess its some new fangle gadget on your newer then our Auris which is 2010.

Radio aerial of some sort. My VW Passat had one of these on a rear quarterlight window, and it meant I didn't need a roof aerial at all.

I’ve got a ‘sharkfin’ Aerial on the roof, so probably not a radio aerial.

Got lots of sensors on the bumpers, so not sure how it would tie in with these.

It appears you are spot on. It’s the DAB aerial.
