Sliding backwards

Hi, I've just bought an aygo automatic and have noticed that when I am in stationary traffic, on an incline, that when I take my foot of the break to put on the gas the car will roll backwards. Is this normal for this car? It's the first automatic car I have driven to do this.         Many thanks for any replies. 😊

yeah the mk1 automatic Aygo has no hill assist so it will roll back. I used to have one and I either used handbrake or took my foot off the brake very quickly.
