After a few years of standing, my plastic lens front headlights have turned a faint yellow tint from being bleached by the hot sun.

I'm not sure what to clean this yellow surface film off with?

I tried washing up liquid and water but that didn't shift it at all.

Any ideas please?

One can use anything from toothpaste up to specialist cleaning kits from Meguiars, Turtle Wax, etc available from the likes of Amazon, Halfords, etc. Eg -

Ah right, that's good. So I checked this out and just cleaned my headlights with toothpaste which apparently acts like a very fine cutting compound on the plastic headlight lens cover. But, not just any old toothpaste; I used some sodium bicarbonate in the toothpaste because this is apparently more effective than ordinary everyday toothpaste. Once washed off I put some Rain-X on the lens and buffed up. And, yes it actually works! Great job. Thanks Frostyballs :clapping:
