Hi,

I have a 1996 Celica 2.0GT (piccie linked below if yer interested):

I want to change the Speakers, and eventually the head unit in the car, as well as add a sub etc in the boot.

My question relates to replacing the existing Speakers. I don't want to butcher the existing mountings if at all possible, but I am having no joy finding any custom fit after market Speakers to replace them.

In the back, I want some 2 or 3 way units, in the front, I want component speakers, eg. the bass/mid driver located in the existing door panel mounting, and dome style tweeters mounted on the dash. I'm more interested in quality of sound rather than quantity of bass. Can anyone recommend any that won't involve butchering the existing mountings?

Many thanks in advance:)

Had a similar problem with my Gen 5. Previous owner had completely removed all the Speakers. Duh! then.

Anyway I went to my local car audio dealer who was able to help. Kenwood (In fact most makers, Sony, Alpine etc) made Speakers in all the right sizes and i was able to upgrade the wattage so that i can install an Amp at any time without having to chop everything around.

The head unit was a little more difficult as i had a double din unit fitted at the time of purchase. However Autoleads make an adapter plate so now i got a single din head unit and an additional cubby hole/ CD holder.

Hope this helps.

Not on a Gen 6 i dont. But i reckon if you`ve got a good audio specialist in your area they`ll be able to sort it out for you. :)
