Hi Everyone,

New guy here. I’m registering on behalf of a friend who drives a 2013 Verso which was involved in a freak accident, damaging the front passenger door 😟. Hopefully I’ve come to the right place for information on breakers who might be able to supply a new door or any other viable option.

On a side note, while I drive an Audi, I’m a huge fan of Toyota and especially the Land Cruiser and it has always been a dream to own one one day.

It is difficult to comment, not knowing the extent of the damage. There are plenty of breakers who will find the part required, but getting a new door, the correct colour, and delivered to you in one piece is another story. They are incredibly heavy so you need to try and find something local and collect it if possible. Has your friend sought any advice? Is it just a door or is there other damage? A photo would be good

Hi,

Many thanks for the helpful advice. I have attached a photo of the damage.

Basically my friend hit a bollard but didn’t even realise till he came home!

The colour code is 070.

My friend did seek advice from local body shops who’ve all quoted around £700 to fix and repaint the whole side, so I thought buying the door might be a better idea?

I found one seller on eBay who is breaking a Verso with the same paint code, but haven’t got a quote yet.

Thanks.

Thanks for the picture, the gap between the sill and the wing, bottom left hand corner, looks a bit out, is there also sill damage? Fitting a door (complete) is fine if you have somebody to help you, but a full door with glass and fittings is HEAVY and not something to attempt on your own. £700 does not sound bad to be honest, I see paint estimates daily and the price of paint would shock you :fear:

Update: the seller came back and the door will be £275 including postage. Does this seem fair?

Trying to establish if there’s sill damage as pointed out earlier.

Thanks.

Is it painted and undamaged? Are you collecting it? If you rely on a courier to deliver it you might find it arrives damaged. You will then have to put it on and you may have a miss match of paint. It is a two man job if you are fitting a door at home. Is there any damage on that sill? There looks to be a differing size gap between the sill and the wing. £275 is a good price if it is OK but what if it has any scratches or damage to it?
