Auris Sr180 lack of power, intermittent

Hi, new to anything like this so hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I have a 2008 Auris Sr180, 2.2 Diesel

Im no car mechanic and don’t pretend to be but any help on what could be wrong with my car would be much appreciated rather than me spending on too many things.

About 3 weeks ago I let me fuel tank go down to zero range and then filled up with supermarket diesel. The following day the problem started to happen, symptoms are intermittent so it’s hard for me to diagnose the actual issue.

When pulling off in first it feels like it’s about to stall on me to the point with I don’t get enough speed to even slot it into 2nd gear but it does eventually go and then it could be 5 minutes an hour or even a day before it does it again. I have changed the fuel filter and didn’t have the problem for over a week but it’s back again.

This time I notice when pulling off in 1st gear the revs don’t seam to go about about 1500-1800rpm which explains why it feels like I’m getting no power but then the next time no issues. I’ve tried creating this problem at a stand still but it’s fine, just seams when I’m driving but again it’s very intermittent.

any ideas?

I’ve changed the fuel filter, since then I have put a bottle of redex in, what’s the chances of that dragging more crap through and blocking my new fuel filter?

I’ve read it could possibly be the SCV? Anyone had any dealings with this part?
