Just renewed the £0 VED for my Aygo online - really is a quick and easy service.

I totally agree, Mike. I did mine last month, it's an easy site to navigate and for us "Zero Payers".....Well, it can even put a smile on your face. 😊

Just a point to anybody dropping in on this.....Even though your car might be in the Zero Tax band, you still have to tax it annually.  I guess that you all know that but I do remember reading that quite a few Folk had been prosecuted for having no tax, as they thought having a £0 VED meant that they didn't need to do anything....ever.

Like I said, I realise that you all know that......But there's always one, isn't there?

Ah ... damn .. the main and possibly  only disadvantage of changing  my 15 Aygo for a 18 Aygo.... I now pay £125 then £140 .... I still think that's odd particularly as the lucky person that buys my ( for all intents and purposes identical ) old car will continue to enjoy £0 every year.

Before the Aygo I had an iQ and every year I would bore all my friends and family with the same "hilarious " story  of getting a bill for £0., having to actually pay £0 and then getting a receipt for £0.

We never laughed so hard.

Hi I thought that the £0 VED  was there as a way for the DVLC to check if you had insurance and MOT (if required )

.... that is until the Treasury make changes to the pre April 2017 VED rates.

They introduced changes to the post April VED rates this year, by moving some cars up a band.

I taxed my Aygo this way when I bought it. Even for someone as technologically  challenged as me it was easy!
