2008 (58) Corolla Verso 2.2 D4D SR 177bhp ABS pump/motor part number.

Hi all,

I recently experienced a loud buzzing noise with accompanying vibration coming from the right hand wing. Even after turning off and removing the key the noise continued. I looked under the bonnet and found the offending part . It seems this is the ABS pump/motor. I removed the electrical connector to prevent the pump from running (it was running constantly and initially was beginning to drain the battery) but this has caused the speedometer to fail and after several days a further engine management light to come on. I am guessing the engine light has illuminated because the management system sees no miles being added

I have been quoted £870+VAT for a new ABS pump/motor with 4 hours labour (£95+VAT/hour) from the local dealer. There are numerous second hand pumps available on the internet but each seems to come with a different code. I need to know if any pump can be used  or if there is a significant difference between each pump (I am of course referring to the pumps specified for the 2.2 D4D 177bhp).

The code from my pump is:

0 265234 222

44546 0F020

080606/8/0850

The bar code on the control module reads 5 416 L2 180508 085

My Verso has ABS, TCS and VSC as well as cruise control.

My ultimate question is...

Which ABS pump/motors can I use safely with my car?

Thanks in advance,

Surely someone can tell me if I can use any pump from a similar year 2.2 d4d corolla verso!

There is no cross reference of the part you need to locate a unit with the same part number, it is not shared with any petrol or the 2.0d, it is shared with some 2.2 130-150bhp models but not all, the only model guaranteed to match is a RHD 2.2 180 Verso.

Thanks for the reply.

I have confirmed that from a few parts dealers today.  I am having to let Toyota carry out the work to ensure everything is correctly done.
