Hi,

I recently got myself an '06 TSport Compressor and my only gripe is the fact it makes a never ending beep when in reverse. I'd just like to turn this off.

Potentially turn off the annoying beep when the key is in the ignition and the door is open too but I'd settle for the reverse beep.

Is this a "go to a Toyota dealer" or can I do it myself?

Possibly a faulty sensor 'thinking' you're close to a wall.  Try unplugging the sensors and see the if it changes.  The control box will probably be behind a side panel in the boot.

The key warning couldn't be turned off in my Avensis, but you could turn the volume down using techstream.

Ahh I don't have any reverse sensors, its just a beep to let you know you're in reverse. Thats the sound I want to turn off.

As for the techstream, I'll take a look at that thanks 👍

I have the same beep with no parking or reverse sensors. It's activated when put into reverse AND when the key is put into the ignition. Agreed it is annoying, but it is a warning to be aware I guess. It would be useful to know how to activate/deactivate it though. Not seen anything from my own diagnostics software, but expect there's a wire somewhere for it I guess? Anyone?

The beeper is in the back of the instrument cluster, soldered onto the actual board. You would have to take apart the cluster involves remvoing the needles and the number skin and de-solder it, or find out which wire goes to the main connector and remove the wire, which I don't recommend. You do get used to it after a while though. The beeping when the Key is in the ACC mode and you leave the door open that annoyance you will never get used to.
