Hello on my corolla d4d  2.0every now and then when driving if I accelerate in 2nd 3rd 4th etc as it hits 2000 rpm the turbo kicks in but the revs jump up to 4K very fast but the car is still picking up speed at the same time then it will gradually drop back to 3.5k and climb back to 4. It’s every now and then earlier it was doing it for first 20 kind of driving then wouldn’t do it at all when I tried to show my mate which is typical. Any ideas? I have no engine light coming up.

Clutch on its way out?  Try pulling off from stopped, in 5th gear, with the handbrake on, and using appropriately high revs.  If you can let the clutch all the way out (or nearly all the way) your clutch is worn.  BTW this test will wear it more, so be prepared to have a new one fitted.

TI proper wrote it off last nights I  took car for a drive  was doing 60 put it in 5th revved up white smoke burnt rubber smellthen proceeded to take 20 mins getting up a hill near where I live. Looks like it’s time for the scrap yard for the car as the clutch and labour compared to the cars value are not worth it. Clutch and flywheel are mnearly a grand being a dual mass. Labours another 450

I take it you would go for the more expensive kit and not the cheap 250 one as the other most be 520 for a reason. The transs  mech seems to cheap.

do I also need to buy the slave cylinder it mentions that some cars need? Says some may need it.
