strange radio

Hi guys can someone explain how my Toyota entertainment system works? In order to switch my preset radio station I have to physically press audio on the radio then station. If I want to use the steering wheel controls its switches trough all kind of stations. Why is it not switching just the preset ones? 2010 T27 avensis with gps

It seems by pressing the steering wheel buttons it's searching for the next available station instead of changing thru your presets.  I'm pretty sure mine did this if I long-pressed the button instead of pressing quickly and releasing.  Try both ways and see if you can get it to work.

On my auris if you short press it, it goes through the presets. If you long press it, it searches for next radio station. I'd actually prefer it how you have it.
