Auris hybrid mpg

Hi there,

I’m new around here so, hi!

I’ve just bought (10 days ago) a 2010  Auris hybrid and am going to ask a question that I’m sure will have been asked hundreds of times before.

i am struggling to ge5 more than 42 mpg from the car. I have done a lot of research on hybrid driving and am using coasting techniques, no air con etc, etc. My driving so far has been totally urban.

Can someone please tell me is this the norm? From what I read I would expect atleadt low 50s

Anticipated thanks for all replies.

Andy

Hi Andy. Welcome. I drive a Auris 2016 hybrid business edition which I have had for approximately 6 weeks. The on-board computer is telling me most days 55 to 65 mpg and on a run I have achieved 80 to 85. Figures do fluctuate quite a lot and are lower when using the aircon. I have changed my driving habbits as you learn to get the best out of the system. Lot's of members on here will just drive and let the car look after itself, but I enjoy trying the different techniques. Enjoy the ride. Bob.

Cheers Bob. I too have changed driving after having watched tons and tons of YouTube tutorials. Maybe I’m just expecting too much too soon and maybe I need to give it a few Iong runs too, so far all my miles have been urban miles.

Loving the car otherwise though.
