I'm going for this baby here....

stereo.jpg

Curious tho about a few things.

1 ) Will the DVD player in it be able to play all region DVDs ?? UK etc ?

2 ) Will I easily be able to hook up an Xbox etc to it ?? IT does say it has external connectors etc

3 ) Will I be able to get a UK Sat NAV disc ?

How easy will it be to use considering it's JAP ??

I've asked the seller, but awaiting a reply. Curious if anyone here has any info ?

Unfortunately, I doubt you'll be able to find a UK disc

The seller on eBay seems to think you can only get Japan Sat Nav dvds

It'll play Jap DVD's, it'll be okay with an Xbox .. but it'll not do sat nav etc ..

what about UK DVDs ?

Did you find this info somewhere mate ? Or just speaking from experience.

From experience .. JAP DVD players 99% of the time will only play JAP region DVDs (think it's region 4 - includes Oz).

And the sat nav systems usually can't work out where the car is - even tried UK maps on a few and they just don't work ..

Looks cool that HU does

How you gonna play xbox games and drive at the same time  it's not safe to play with 1 hand on the steering wheel, you need them both on the control pad :D  :P

lol.... will be sweet.

Xbox hooked upto it. I could then watch DVDs there I suppose. Or goto the madness of getting OZ DVDs imported... lol.

Oz DVD's are cheaper than HMV I think .. have a look on Amazon.com.au ..

Watch the DVD's on the Xbox .. be easier .. or download the DivX movies and slap them on the hard disk ..

Just get the thing chipped for all regions

it already is.... :) ( the xbox )

The only thing is it's one of those non-solder ones that use those pogo pin things. A big bump ( bumpy ride in a mr2 ), could easily knock the chip out of alignment slighty.

May have to look at getting one to solder on.

I need one :)

Cheers

yeah it should be fine mate. All programmed etc. It's just that in the car, the bumps will knock it loose. In the house it's fine.

I actually have a spare one kicking about my house mate. If I find it, you can have it for £20 ??

You just need to flash it etc, which is easy to do with info on the web. Also easy to fit.

I'll have a tidy next week and see if I can find it. I got sent 2 of them when I got mine.

If you need any "backup" games etc, give me a shout also.
