Project: 2 X 400bhp Plus Gen 7s

Nemesis Performance

Hi guys,

I am pleased to announce that we are currently building the two most powerful ZZT231 celicas in the country (that we know about!).

We are using intercooled superchargers to give the boost. We are totally rebuilding the blocks with steel internals and lowering the compression ratio but still retaining the original displacement. Both cars will also be fitted with Nitrous injection systems and nitrous intercooler systems.

I thought I might start posting some pics and stuff on here if people are interested.

be interesting to see how they compare with the two gen 7's supercharged by Japspeed Racing that have been supercharged a long time now and of course there is the ex fensport one with the blitz s/charger as well.

Hmmmm, 400bhp+. Before or after Nitrous?

Also, I assume its the Blitz sc as Nemisis normally deal with imports, and thats been quoted as 240bhp.

Please provide a little more detail on what you are planning as I'm sure there is a very interested community put there :)

As well as engine internals, you will of course be putting in an LSD to help with the power handling? There is always going to be a limit however as to what a front wheel drive car can put on the road.

Japspeeds cars really do sound awesome and deliver the power well.

Much of this is old news to us at www.celica-club.co.uk, but it's nice to see our pioneers being emulated. There is no better form of respect.

Good luck with the projects. Look forward to seeing the results.

sounds interesting ,as been asked here , 400bhp before or after the nos ?

if its after the nos its not such a big raise ,

about front wheel drive power , the car can handle the power well enough ,

i have friend whith honda civic : itegra type-r engine 570bhp (no nos) fwd,

and a friend with VW corrado 400bhp (no nos) fwd.

waiting to see this , i'm waiting for more info...

Hi guys thanks for the feedback.

We are essentially taking the pioneers' work further! We are using the same rotrex supercharger system as japspeed did. In fact one of the cars was originally done by japspeed.

As you will be aware superchargers can only be run up to around 8psi on the standard engine internals, maybe 10psi with intercoolers. The superchargers are being re-geared to allow a lot more boost. We are therefore rebuilding the blocks to a much higher spec. We are using forged pistons with a sleeve kit and lowering the compression ratio to 9.5 to 1 to allow a bit of give for when we run 1.2bar + nitrous through them! We are also changing the rods, big end bearings, main bearings, thrust washers (bearings), head bolts and crank shaft cap bolts, valves and valve springs. The head is being ported and polished. We made the decision to go with the standard camshafts as they are highly tuned with lots of overlap and probably within about 5% of optimum anyway.

We are aiming for 350bhp to 400bhp at the flywheel without nitrous. Both cars will then have either direct port or single stage NX nitrous systems running a further 75 - 150bhp progressive shot.

In regard to power delivery one car is auto and one car is manual. On the manual car the gear box is having full shot peen to increase the tolerance. We know the gear box can handle 300bhp already so hopefully the shot peening will increase it's life expectancy with the extra power! We are fitting a heavy duty organic clutch and an helical LSD to get the power down.

On the auto car we are basically going to see how long the torque converter lasts and until a LSD becomes available for the auto box it will have to do without! Should be fun anyway! When the auto box dies we will do a manaul conversion or perhaps a sequential box conversion. It will be good to know what the box can handle.

Both cars will run the Apexi Power FC management system or the HKS F-con we are still planning this at the mo. We may even decide to run the Greddy Emanage.

Both cars have custom big brake conversions, uprated suspension (TRD and Tein) and large bore exhaust systems. Both cars are also looking bling bling thanks to Veilside and Yamaha bodyparts and wheels etc.

We are at the engine build stage right now so The cars should be driving around in a couple of months or so.

I will try and get some pictures along the way.

Interesting. However, the import gen 7's on semi auto smt boxes do come with factory fitted lsd. I've just sold the car in my avartar and this was an auto 190 ss11 with lsd. Hope this helps.

friendly advice : use oil intercooler for the gear box .

dont take the chance .

good luck with the tuning , its not so simple as it seems .

waiting to see the outcome.

  • 2 weeks later...

Update:

Projects are coming on well. The blocks are currently being bored to take the new sleeve kits. Big brake conversion is being developed. Manual gearbox is being shot peened.

I've got some photos which I will work out how to post soon....!
