Bought a T180 with blown gasket

Hiya guys. As the title suggests, I got a verso t180 with blown gasket.

I got the car ages ago actually, got it on a impulse auction buy. Got home and realised there is a problem and after doing some research found out about the usual common fault.

So, after it has been sat as a drive ornament for far to long, me and the pops are thinking about repairing and using it.

From what I gather, best bet is a new engine. So I wanted to know, is there any specific engine codes to differentiate the newer engines used for the recall?

being a T180, can we source any 2ad engine, and use that?

Also anyone have a guide for engine removal on these, never worked on a verso. We are DIY home “mechanics”. We have done engine swaps, and builds before so don’t worry. On that note, if the head isn’t cracked, would a full rebuild work? If I’m not mistaken, that was the first thing offered on recall, which didn’t work?

Any helps, tips, support anyone can offer will be appreciated.
