Display making car doors stay open

I have a light on the top display when I turn the engine on. It is a seat with something on it facing the seat ( a child). It goes off as soon as the car starts but I cannot lock the doors when I get out, a continuous warning sounds.

Please help

The light sounds like the passenger airbag light (a picture is worth a 1000 words).

It is unlikely to be related to the inability to lock the doors - try checking that all doors are properly closed & that if you have push to start that you haven't left a smartfob in the car.

Thank you, Here is a picture. The door won't lock, it started exactly at the time the light on the dash came on.

Those are notifications if airbag is off, so child can be put to front seat, or on, meaning you're not supposed to put a child there, in case airbag activates.

To check your setting, when you open the door, on the interior side of the dashboard, to the door, there should be a small switch on/off.

It should not be related to the ability to lock the door.  Continuous  warning sign should be that you left the key fob inside the door, so the car wont lock itself.

Do you maybe have a spare fob inside the car?

Hi Dean,

Thank you so much, it was the spare key fob, which I have packed into a suitcase, as Im moving house tomorrow. If i keep them both on me I guess all should be well.

PS I have no indicator wing mirror repeater light working on the driver's side. Is that a DIY fix do you think please?

Put hazards on, go outside and compare the blinking speed of the lights on the left/right side. If the side where the indicator is not working is blinking faster, then it's a dead bulb, you should be fine to replace it.

There was a similar thread about wing mirror replacement, with some DIY instructions on how to disassemble it, should be an easy job, just use search to find it.

Good luck in your repair.
