Vehicle manufacturer profits for 2017

Mike Rutherford in Auto Express has published some information on the profits of vehicle manufacturers for 2017:

Toyota  -  $22.7 billion

VW Group  -  $13.1 billion

Mercedes  -  $11.9 billion

BMW  -  $9.7 billion

Honda  -  $9.5 billion

Ford  -  $7.6 billion

Nissan  -  $6.7 billion

Renault  -  $5.8 billion

SAIC  -  $5 billion

Hyundai  -  $3.6 billion

Subaru  -  $2 billion

Suzuki  -  $1.9 billion

Beijing Automotive  -  $1.6 billion

Dongfeng  -  $1.4 billion

Tata  -  $1 billion

Mazda  -  $1 billion

Kia  -  $856 million

Whereas General Motors lost $3.9 billion.

The problem with VW Group is VW itself - Audi, Porsche etc. are very profitable but VW barely makes a profit (<2%).
