2018 Yaris Throttle Problem

Hello members, I thought I would ask here to see if anyone else has had similar problems to mine.

I bought a brand new Toyota Yaris 1.5 Bi-Tone in October of last year.

It's a nice little car but certainly isn't the same solid quality as the 1.6 Corolla SR I had before it!.

I thought buying a new car would keep me "garage-free" for at least 3 years but alas this has proven to be not the case with a creaking and rubbing sound from the rear driver's side wheel from new.

After a number of visits back to my dealership a problem was discovered with the brake cable(where it connects to the wheel) and so a new one was put on last week.

I can't hear the creaking sound now but sadly the faint rubbing sound(like a bearing or the disc) is still there.

Anyway, about 3 weeks ago I noticed a lag in the throttle after taking a mild corner.  When I applied the throttle there was a split second lag before the car took off again and I've noticed it a couple of times now.

I began to also notice a strange lag with the throttle when driving in general and infact when I press the throttle down with my thumb in 2-3 small quickish successions it'll only start revving on the third press.  I appreciate these new throttles are electronic now but I just feel the response should be quicker.

The Toyota garage feel there's nothing wrong but to be fair they're hoping to compare it with another one when available(sold their last one).

Has anyone else had similar experiences as this with their new Yaris or would anyone have any thoughts on it?.

Many thanks for any help or advice you can give.

Paul - Fully understand where you are coming from in terms of Corolla to Yaris build quality. Was given Yaris whilst my corolla was serviced and was very disappointed with the whole experience. Was just glad to get corolla back even though it was considerably older. Maybe I'm just getting old myself but the Corolla feels like a tank compared to the latest models. I understand cars are much lighter and fuel efficient now but feel flimsy and soulless!
