Remote Lead For Amp

Plan on finnishing the install of sub and amo 2nite, reagarding the remote lead for the amp which will turn amp on say wen car is on or headunit is on, how do u wire that up ie to wat and how??? i dont know :lol:

also said connect using a butt connector, what does this look like :lol: sorry for dumb questions

any 12 volt signal!i just wired mine into the cigarette lighter wires just behind the dash!worked fine!!!!i bet theres an easier way though!

oh yeah just had a look in the garage! :D

headunit should have a REM or P.CONT labelled wire (normally blue and white aswell)

this is the remote. just run a fly lead from that to the REM terminal on the amp

Hmm <_< :blink: well all connected up as best to my knowledge and connected up remote turn on to REM seems fine, jst amp aint turning on thus no sub :angry::crybaby: had enough now im jst gonna take it down to a pro and get him 2 give it the onces over and see wats happenin

No No - Hang on in there bud....

I was in a very similiar boat getting real frustrated n all....

I mean I was like carrying my sub around in the boot for like near like 2 weeks before I managed to finally get everything working.

btw to find the correct lead from your hu(rem) to trigger your amp just use a voltmeter - I found mine in no time.

dont believe i own a volt meter <_<

use a 12V bulb instead

check the fuses on the amp

okies, haha ull laugh at this 1, tried taken fuses of amps out but couldnt ;) was gonna replace to see if they work but no such luck as couldnt get them out

use plyers, you should still be able to see if it blown without removing it

try the fuse on the main power cable for the amp

Yea theres an REM commin from headunit, may not have connected up prop, so gonna have another look in a bit and also check all the fuses 1 more time, apart form that im lost :huh:

do u have a decent earth!is it on bare metal(not painted??)

to wire it in to the cigarette lighter i pulled the wire down behind the dash which goes into the cig lighter and carefully strpped back the plastic coating and attached the remote to this!the re-insulated using tape!

cheers for the helps peeps, afriad still not workin :huh: ah well thats life, ive got it booked into an audio/alarm pro who did my 6x9s hes gona give it the onces over 2mo and hopefully sort it all out, im hoping its soming really simple and im being stupid rather than fualty equipment :(
