New Corolla

Already mentioned in the Corolla forum, a new car is being announced for next year. Link from Autocar -https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/toyota-corolla-touring-sports-revealed-ahead-paris-debut?utm_medium=EMAIL&utm_campaign=Enews Bulletin&utm_content=ACAR ENews Bulletin - Goodwood advert (04.09.2018)::hero_readmore&utm_source=20180904

I had seen it mentioned in Avensis UK Facebook page and looking at the article mentioned in Autocar this car has the same wheelbase as the current Avensis.

Looking at the photos especially the side profile, the Corolla Tourer looks similar to the Avensis Tourer -  Toyota Corolla Touring Sports side

What does anyone else think?

I agree that in side profile there is a certain resemblance of the new Corolla TS to the current Avensis TS.

I just think it's a beautiful car. And it does look like the Avensis but that's no bad thing. Well done Toyota.

I agree. The Auris Touring Sport looks more slab sided by comparison. Plus the rear seat room is a bit cramped for tall people, where as the current Avensis Tourer is like a limosine. Yesterday I stopped by my local Toyota dealership, on my bike ride with my brother. I sat in the rear seat of the CH-R and RAV4. The CH-R has two issues for tall people, and both relating to the rear door opening and window. First the you have to duck getting in and out of the car, and secondly though the headroom is fine the top of the window stops at eye level or below. To look out and up means ducking down. The RAV4 is fine and just like the Avensis and the boot is big too. Hopefully the Corolla is like Avensis and RAV4 for rear passenger space.

I found the true link https://www.facebook.com/toyotauk/ (I mistakenly said Toyota Avensis Owners page) :- http://blog.toyota.co.uk/toyota-corolla-touring-sports-to-debut-at-the-paris-motor-show

I noticed that there is no handbrake lever, so the car may be using EPB or a foot controlled parking brake system.

it's an EPB in the already available US version. Pretty sure that the next generation RAV4 has too.
