New non OEM head units can do all of that you want + work with steering wheel commands and you get cameras on them, with the price tag of around 150 to 180 gbp on sites like Aliexpress + installation fee if you don't do it yourself.

You can find review about them online, i was thinking about buying one, and gave up, since i already have Toyota blue tooth kit.

Do you have a link for this so I can take a look? Thank you.

Not to advertise any particular seller, here's a broader search

https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20190504085158&SearchText=toyota+auris+stereo

I thought about getting one, but i might not keep my car long term to make it worth while to hassle with it.

Read the comments to get more info what works best, which ones work fine with steering controls, etc, also you can find review on Youtube to see how it worked for others. I would not go for cheapest option as that will have terrible screen and slow CPU.

I've recently added a Kenwood unit to mine for this reason. Can answer some questions if you have any?

That looks awesome. What's the model number? I'd be interested in something like this for my Auris. I'm become fed up with my blue tooth adapter I've fitted in. 😂

It's a Kenwood DMX7018DABS, works with Android auto/apple car play, bluetooth, DAB, etc etc. If you get the right adapter wiring, works with steering wheel controls too!

Do you have the correct adapter wiring hooked up the steering wheels controls?

Yeah they work perfectly.

Adapter is an Autoleads, part number CP2-TOY23

Perfect - thank you for that. I'll have a look around online now.

No problem!

One of the main reasons for me choosing this unit was that the screen is capacitive rather than resistive and there are no hideous brightly lit buttons surrounding it.

Complete list of parts I used:

Head unit - DMX7018DABS

Adapter - CP2-TOY23

Facia - Generic Auris double din anthracite

DAB aerial - Kenwood DAB aerial

The facia stand offs needed some trimming to sit it flush with the rest of the dash but not a tricky job.

The surround for the headunit didn't fit into the facia so I 3D printed my own.

That's really helpful, will take a look at everything you've listed during my lunch break, I'm at work at the moment. Any questions I have, I'll pop them on here.

Are you able to play music from a USB pen drive? Or is the USB slot just for charging purposes?

From the specifications, it does look like you can play music from a USB device.
