Hi everyone,

Sorry i've been away a lot recently i've been busy working and working on my car!!!

Just thought i'd give you a quick update.

Since my last post with the new powerflow back box ive now got clear side repeaters, used headlight strobes in the foot wells,(look quite good), blue light in the originally white boot light and have finally lowered it 40mm on spax springs. Shes looking lovely. Kit shouldn't be too long now as pay cheque is going towards it!!!! Also a cam cover should be on its way to me too!!!!

I've also had to get insurance :censor: Yup insurance is fun isnt it. Ive had some mad mad quotes but it looks liverpool vic have best cover for a bit more. £1557 is what im going to have to pay for FC in my name. Is a price but hey its the best place to start. I had some stupid quotes. One company said that for FC with exhaust, new alloys(even though it came with alloys) and springs it was going to be a low price of £4050!!!! Excluding a load more for the fact that ive put neons on it etc!!!! What a load of bo :censor: ks.

Hope everyone is well

Matt

how old are you matt?

I'm also with them, think mines £600 or £700 but it's only got 3 months left on the policy so should go down a bit more.

Anyone know what happens when you add a second vehicle?

im only 19 and this is my first time with my own insurance policy, so that means no no-claims bonus!!! :(

Everyone else i speak to about the insurance keep classing it as a sports car and becuase of that boost the insurance up.

I was offered £1173 TPFT or £1557 FC and i thought for the extra few pounds i would go FC.

They only boost premuim on performance mods dont they?!?!

Any ideas if that would include lowering springs as its not so much a performance such as an engine mod, more of a handling mod.

Everyone else didnt really give me that competitive of quotes.

With Liverpool Vic as long as you have photographic evidence of all mods you're fine.

Mods like springs & filters are ok, basically as long as you don't change the engine they don't mind.

and thats why we love them! lol

That is until they tell you you can't have another car on the same policy & they dont do limited milage scheme's anymore...

Thats why i want to go with them too. :group-cuddles:

Mod friendly insurance. :group-cuddles: I bet they get a load of business as they are one of the cheapest places and they do awesome mod cover!!!!

Any ideas if stereo is all covered inc sub+amp?

I think ICE is covered up to a certian amount, probably few hundred odd but I'd check if you've got a load of it sitting in there.

Cool, thats ok then becuase when it gets upgraded its all going to get bolted down with bits molded it.

Its all officially sorted im now insured with Liverpool Vic.

Im well happy now as its all mine.... ALL MINE!!!!!! :ffs:

The paseo's look a lot better lowered on 17s dont they, im really happy with it but need 2 new rear shocks as they are seriously past it, one has no pressure and the other has some pressure but not much!!! More expenses there then. Anyone bought any new rear shocks for the seo?

If so which ones and what was the cost?

Also did anyone fit their own springs? On one of the shocks i had a few shims but they were only on one side!!!! Anyone else find this? Any ideas why they're there??

Cheers,

Matt

Funny you should mention shims <_<

I've had two n/s strut mounts go in the last two months, where the top of the shock goes through the mount you get a large washer to put on the top before the nut. But cos the top of the shocker has a seat on it which presses against the bush in the middle of the mount it just pushes the bush out over time :(

So I've tried to put the washer 'under' the strut then the seat just pushes against the rubber of the mount and can't push out the bush. Even bigger but, the ride seems a bit unsettled though, still trying to figure out a better solution to a bad design ;)

Those shims are only on one side if the car too which makes it even more odd!!!

Any ideas why theyre on there and when i replace the rear shocks whether i need to keep these in when i use the new shock??

I definatly think there was a design flaw with the seo as daz said with the bushings. The rear shocks have a lot of pressure from the car without being pulled by the mounts!!! :(

After seeing the suspension mess i can now see the reason to the suspension problems people are having. ;)
