Checking gearbox oil level

Hi all,

Just curious how difficult it is to check the gearbox oil level on my D4D Yaris 2012. It is making a whining noise when I am on the accelerator to maintain a constant speed. I would like to check the level as a first check

Hi,  It's an easy job. Remove the filler point plug and top up until oil starts to dribble out. then refit the plug. Try to get the vehicle as near to level as you can, best done on a garage ramp.

Check your wheel bearings, when worn, these whine when the car is in motion. Unless you see an oil leak from the gearbox, the oil is good for 100k
