When I got the Corolla 1.4, the front fogs were, well, fogged! Pretty typical for water ingress, by the looks. I had a go with a stick and a rag through the bulb hole, to little avail, so then I (ahem) 'dismantled' them to get a really good go at the glass. They now look much better, but the actual light output is not great, so i find myself wondering about replacements.

I'm not particularly fussed between halogen and LED, although I have read some comments on some sealed LED units having a better, tighter pattern.

To confuse matters further, my Corolla uses the 3-mounting, one of them being just a peg, rather than the usually advertised 4 holes mounting.

Any thoughts or experiences? These are for actually driving in fog on the Northern hills, rather than for looking cool!

Might just try those first, thanks Frosty.

I see on the carton they're a trade-off between extra brightness and reduced life, so maybe an overrunning lower voltage bulb. Any experience of them?

We've had Osram Night Breakers in the headlights of several cars over the years, and we've found life to be reasonable. We change the bulbs in each of our cars for upgrade ones almost as soon as we get them. For example in my last Auris that we had for 3.5 years from new, we had one bulb fail (Osram Night breaker Unlimited +110%) after about two years. Other cars we've not had to renew the bulbs

There are other upgrade bulbs available - Ring, Philips, etc.

Have a look at Amazon or eBay - think your fog light bulbs may be H11's, but check before buying.

I'd just this minute fired up the computer to find the photo of the bulb!

H11 it is.

Many thanks.
