Aygo 2007 radio wiring confusion

Recommended Posts

SO, hello, first time Toyota owner here. Having a blast with my new (used) Aygo.

Here's the dilemma; bought a new shiny radio with USB and bluetooth things and whatnot to replace the old radio. However, it doesnt get any constant power from the batter because the yellow wire (which I assume is the constant power wire) is on a separate socket.

The power socket has a blue one in place where the yellow one (I assume) should go. Took a picture of them both before installing it, see the attachment on this post!

The new radio works just fine, except that it resets everything once the car is powered off.

Little tidbits:

  • The radio does not turn on when the car is powered on -> gotta hit that power button on the radio itself
  • The radio does not remain on once the car is powered off
  • The radio can not be turned on when the car is powered off (I believe this is how it is supposed to be, strangely I didn't take any mental notes on this when the old radio was still attached 🤔)

Any help is appreciated! 😃

Just swap your yellow and red wire as this guy has done. Watch the video. I have done this twice already since i have owned this car. I changed again to after market radio with blue tooth recently. It works great.

Not sure what you mean, if you have the tom tom satnav, changing the radio means the sat nav will not work

there are 100's of aftermarket radios, avoid cheap no name Chinese tat

First you need to check switch live and permanent live feeds as plug socket and radio socket  locations often change from mfg and radio mfg.

Dont expect satnav if fitted to work on 3 party products.
