cables in front headrest?

Hi,

I was going to put seat covers in my toyota avensis 1.6 petrol 2009 model (new sahpe) and found that there are two cables passing from the rods of head rest. So could not put the seat covers...

Does any body know, what are those cables for?

and is there any way to remove the headrest to put on the covers.

You can get seat covers which are one piece incl. headrest.

The car is fitted with Active headrests, in the event of an impact the front material part pops forwards to cushion your head/neck.The cable is part of the mechanism and attached down inside the seat, You can't put covers over them if you want them to work.
