We havent had our 2005 Avensis saloon for too long and now the weather is cooler, I can take our dog out when say, popping into a shop.  I want to be able to lock the car but not have him set the alarm off.  Any clues how to do this ?  Previous makes of car have allowed this but cant for the life of me work out how to do it on the Avensis.

or the other alternative usually is to lock the door with the mechanical key & not the remote fob. On most that does not set the alarm but locks the doors.

I use the button on the courtesy lamp panel it only disables the sensors for that time next time you lock with the fob they are set,  also with the key fob on ours if we dont put the deadlocks on it sometimes doesent arm the sensors so just pushing the lock button once not twice.
