Toyota Verso-S (Terra) / petrol 1.33 - Cruise Control add on

Recommended Posts

Good Day everyone,

I was wondering if it's possible to add Cruise Control Stalk into my Verso-S petrol engine car.

I have a Toyota S-Verso 2013.

Does any of you have tried to install Cruise Control Stalk in his car.

I was able to find some answers on the USA forums but the info is not relevant for EU cars, only USA cars, mostly for Toyota Corola. or Yaris.

I was able to track the P/N Cruise Control Stalk

Also some installation instructions for Yaris OEM Cruise Control Installation

I don'y know if it's going to works with the S-Verso.

Any ideas are welcome.

I don't want to start  "playing" with the ECM connectors (re-wire to the ECM unit) I was hoping for plug & play solution.

Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks,

Joseph

Hi Guys,

Any update on this topic? Have anyone tried to install the cruise controller by himself? Or should I bring the car to the specialized garage?

Hi Michael,

I just installed the cruise control stalk on my 2012 Verso S. Unfortunately I was unable to get the "cruise" light on in the dashboard.

I dismantled the top and bottom covers behind the steering wheel: it misses the two wires (ground + ECU).

I also tried looking for the ECU connector (see if it is similar to Yaris/Prius): no success so far.

Hello philpeter. I am searching for a cruise control for my 2013 toyota verso-s 1,4 d-4d diesel. I did not find any cruise control stalk. Is it possible to add one for a diesel engine?

Hello Fellow Seekers,

I am also still searching and searching for where to connect this one wire to the connector of the ECU.

I am also still  unable to get the "cruise" light on in the dashboard.

Hope to find it here some day...

Greetings, Walter (reclamegezeik@gmail.com)

If it's the 1.33 not all ecus support cruise control. There is no programming in the ecu for it

2 methods

1.physically check that you have the correct clock spring and wiring in place - If you have audio controls, you usually have the correct clock spring, check that you have the correct clutch/brake switches

2.Use techstream to verify the control/ecu function

info from a mk3 yaris using TS

No CC

Very helpful, thank you!
Is it possible to check for the above via the generic cheap bluetooth ODBII devices?
Also, what do the clutch / brake switches look like?

The above information (PID's) can only be seen in TS or some higher end scan tools - there are TS Chinese clones available with the Mini-VCI interface

As for the switches, i couldn't tell you what are used on the Verso S configuration

Where on the dashboard is the light for the cruise control? Didn’t find any in the manual, can’t see it with a flashlight either.

It is in the centre dial, the speedometer. IMG_20220822_145612.thumb.jpg.a503f2769822fda691764e180e0a49fd.jpg

There are 2 types of clutch switch - the ecu uses it for many different systems, including SRS

yours was built 03/2011 cruise wasn't an option until 12/2012
