Touch Go 2

Any advice welcome. At my last Service I asked if the Touch Go 2 sat nav could be checked. Often after start up it took over 2 minutes or so before the car was shown in the correct place on the screen. When the car was returned (dealer picked it up and returned it) the invoice said software had been updated. When I checked the info screen it said Software Version 6.11OWL and Map ID 2018 V1. Can anyone tell me if this means the maps have been updated or just the operating system. It works fine now.

6.11.0.WL/Map ID 2018 V1 came out in the early part of the year (April-ish).

6.12.0WL/ 2018 V2 came out a few weeks ago. Depending upon exactly when your car was registered it may be a free update.

I think that you will qualify for the 3 years free updates then (iirc it was ~ June 2016> that the low system qualified for 3 years of free updates, the high system years before that).

Thanks for the info on free map update, it dosn’t seem to be very well publicised. I downloaded latest maps yesterday and installed them in car today. Had no problem just a bit time consuming.

For future reference, if you only install the maps that you will use (e.g. just the UK if you don't take the car abroad) it will complete the update much faster.
